Chérie Mag ("Chérie," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent publication and creative brand operated from Vietnam. We operate the online store at cheriemag.com (the "Site"), powered by Shopify.

2. The Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

Information you give us directly, including your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, and phone number when you place an order or contact us.

Payment information, including payment card details and transaction records. This information is processed securely by PayPal and is not stored directly by Chérie.

Order and transaction information, including the products you purchase, your order history, and any returns or cancellations.

Communications, including the content of any messages you send us through email or our contact form.

Device and usage information, collected automatically when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and how you navigate the Site. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies managed by Shopify.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@cheriemag.com and we will delete it promptly.

3. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your personal information only for the following purposes:

To fulfil your order — processing your payment, confirming your purchase, arranging delivery of physical products, and sending your digital product access link.

To communicate with you — responding to your enquiries, sending order confirmations and shipping updates, and providing customer support.

To improve the Site — understanding how visitors use the Site so we can make it work better.

To comply with legal obligations — retaining records as required by Vietnamese law, including tax and e-commerce regulations.

For security and fraud prevention — authenticate accounts, secure transactions, detect suspicious activity, prevent fraud, investigate misuse, protect our systems and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

For marketing and promotional communications — we may use your email address to send you marketing communications about new issues, product launches, editorial updates, and other Chérie news. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. If you opt out, we will still send you transactional emails related to your orders and account.

We may also use information about your purchases and activity on the Site to show you relevant Chérie content or products on other platforms. We do not sell your personal information to third parties and we do not share it with unaffiliated brands or advertisers for their own marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Your Personal Information

We share your personal information only where necessary to operate the Site, fulfil your order, or support our own marketing communications, and only with the following categories of service providers acting on our behalf:

Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts the Site and processes certain data in connection with your use of the store. Shopify's own privacy practices are described at privacy.shopify.com.

PayPal and HitPay — our payment processors. Your payment information is transmitted directly to PayPal or HitPay depending on the payment method you select at checkout, and is governed by their respective privacy policies. Chérie does not store your payment card details on our own servers.

Our third-party logistics provider — for fulfilment and shipping of physical orders. Your name and delivery address will be shared with our 3PL and the relevant carrier (including DHL eCommerce) solely for the purpose of delivering your order.

Email delivery providers — for sending order confirmations, shipping notifications, and customer support replies.

These service providers are permitted to process your personal information only for the purpose of providing their service to us. They are not permitted to use it for their own marketing or any unrelated purpose.

We may also disclose your personal information where required by Vietnamese law, a valid

legal process, or a request from a competent government authority.

5. International Transfers

Chérie is based in Vietnam and sells worldwide. When you place an order, your personal information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence, including in countries where Shopify, PayPal, or our logistics providers operate their infrastructure.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a manner consistent with applicable law, including the requirements of Vietnam's Law on Personal Data Protection (effective January 1, 2026) and, where applicable, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms for transfers from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

6. Cookies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to support basic functionality, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site. These cookies are primarily managed by Shopify as the platform provider.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect how the Site functions.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil your order, provide customer support, comply with our legal obligations under Vietnamese law (including tax record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

In practice, order and transaction records are typically retained for a minimum of five years in accordance with Vietnamese accounting and tax law. Email communications are retained until they are no longer needed for customer support purposes. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to the exceptions described in Section 8.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to request confirmation of whether we process your personal information and access the information we hold about you.

You may have the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.

You may have the right to request deletion or erasure of personal information, although we may retain information where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, the establishment or defence of legal claims or another legally permitted purpose.

You may have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You may have the right to object to or request restriction of certain processing activities, including certain direct-marketing or legitimate-interest processing.

You may have the right to receive certain information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, request that it be transferred to another provider.

You may have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising or certain profiling activities.

You may have the right to request that we limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information.

You may have the right to lodge a complaint with an appropriate court, regulator or data-protection authority and, where applicable, appeal a decision we make concerning your privacy request.

You may also have rights to be informed about processing, protect your personal information and request compensation for damage where provided by applicable Vietnamese law.

Privacy rights are not absolute and may apply only in certain circumstances. We may decline or limit a request where permitted by law.

To exercise a right, contact us using the information in Section 25. Please describe your request and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records.

We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. Verification information will be used only to confirm identity and protect your information against unauthorised disclosure.

Where permitted, you may appoint an authorised agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require evidence of the agent’s authority and may contact you directly to verify the request.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 16 or any higher minimum age required by the law where the child lives.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children below the applicable age without appropriate permission from a parent or legal guardian.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate permission, please contact us. We will investigate and delete the information where required.

A parent or legal guardian may contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of a child’s information, subject to appropriate identity and authority verification.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Payment transactions are processed securely by PayPal or HitPay depending on the method selected at checkout. Payment details are not transmitted through or stored on our own servers.

No security measures are entirely impenetrable. We recommend that you do not share sensitive information over unsecured channels and that you contact us immediately at support@cheriemag.com if you believe your information has been compromised.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable law, or the services we use. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by sending an email to the address associated with your account or by posting a notice on the Site.

Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
